About the Project

A place for old friends.

But *WHAT* is it, you ask?

The closest approximation to my websites as they appeared circa 1999-2006. It contains several of my old half-baked ideas.

Why?

Once upon a time, I used to use mIRC to check in on the #weird-al channel as a fan of “Weird Al” Yankovic. While there, I met a good group of internet friends (several of whom I have met IRL since those days). At some point, we split off into our own server, where a lot of nonsensical conversations occurred. I often saved a lot of these shenanigans.

Although the group has long since disbanded, and some of its members are now estranged, I had always promised to post these relics. I don’t know if they’ll ever see them, but I feel I owe it to those friends.

To give the site some sort of structure other than random snippets of old chat logs, I thought, ‘Hey, why not do something with the seven or so combination of WordPress and Blogger websites I had, and make the site familiar and comfortable should anyone who knew me at the time stumble upon it?’ So voilà – a recreation of the websites that used to house the logs the first time around.

Why is the web address thethemeshow.com?

That’s a different project of mine, a series of playlists with a thematic element, and it was hosted here but is now at http://fs-themeshow.com. Feel free to check it out if you’re interested.

It’s no longer here because, long story short, one of the missing internet friends from the group hosts this page, but I haven’t been able to get in touch for some necessary access I would need to keep making the show. I highly suspect this domain may just cease to exist one day. So, I moved my site to my hosting, which I control, and decided – at least for now – it’d be cool to have something here.
