Wii Fit Journal, Entry Two

OK, welcome to Day 2 of my workout. Overall, I’m more or less happy with my improvement for today—despite my BMI and weight being up from Friday. More on that in a second:

Updated Stats

  • Age: 35
  • Height: 5′1″
  • Weight: 169.5 lbs (up 2.2 lbs)
  • BMI: 32.01 – Obese (up 0.42)
  • Wii Fit Age: 38 (down 3 years from Day 1)
  • Center of Balance: Left 54.6% / Right 45.4%

Total Fit Credits: 34 minutes

Balance Tests

  • Agility Test: 12 squares touched
  • Single-Leg Balance Test: 30 sec held / Stability 68%

I should note: Friday’s weigh-in was a no-food kind of morning. Today, I came off a feast at the local diner where my bestie works — so I doubt the entire 2.2 lbs is fat. Maybe some of it’s muscle? My sore legs and abs from the weekend hope so.

Yoga (10 min)

  • Deep Breathing – 74 pts ★★★★ (–16 pts)
  • Half Moon – 77 pts ★★★ (–7 pts)
  • Warrior – 67 pts ★★ (–1 pt)
  • Tree Pose – 72 pts ★★★ (+6 pts)
  • Sun Salutation (new!) – 94 pts ★★★★

Focused more on breathing today, which may have hurt my balance scores a little. Still: Tree Pose improvement! No foot drop this time—just a lot of slippery pants. I need better petite workout gear; cuff-tripping isn’t cardio.

Strength Training (11 min)

  • Single Leg Extension – 86 pts ★★★ (+9 pts)
  • Torso Twists – 94 pts ★★★ (+10 pts)
  • Push-Up & Side Plank – 66 pts ★★ (+8 pts)
  • Jackknife – 90 pts ★★★★ (+40 pts!!)✨
  • Lunge – 100 pts ★★★★ (no change)
  • Rowing Squat (new!) – 0 pts 😅
  • Single-Leg Twist (new!) – 76 pts ★★★

This whole category felt awesome today. I went back to focusing on the movements instead of my breath, and it paid off—especially in the Jackknife (I feel like a core god now). I still cheat on push-ups, but hey, the planks felt better! No clue what happened during the “Rowing Squat” other than general confusion.

Aerobics (7 min)

  • Hula Hoop – 130 spins, 4 hoops = ★★ (+21 spins!)
  • Basic Step – 193 pts = ★★ (+91 pts)
  • Basic Run – 47% burn rate = ★ (+10%)

I made real progress in Basic Step—only missed four moves this time! The running game is still awkward; I carry the remote like a baton since my sweats don’t have pockets, but then the game wants arm motion too? Chaos. At least I’m still crushing VR hula-hooping far better than I ever did IRL.

Balance Games (6 min)

  • Soccer Heading – 36 pts ★ (+9 pts)
  • Ski Slalom – 1:09.80 ★ (improved by 12.9 sec)
  • Ski Jump – 182m ★★ (+93m!)
  • Table Tilt – 40 pts ★★ (same)
  • Tightrope Walk (new!) – 18 yards ★

I want to love this category so badly—it’s got my high school roots: goalie + varsity ski team. But the Wii Balance Board is nothing like ski boots, and it throws me. I did improve my Ski Jump distance once I figured out faster balance means a faster hill descent. Almost forgot to jump, though! 😅
New unlock: Tightrope Walk officially ends my circus dreams. (See also: my hula hoop career.)

Items Unlocked:

  • Yoga: Standing Knee
  • Balance Games: Balance Bubble
  • Extra Reps Unlocked:
    • Single-Leg Extension: 10 reps/leg
    • Torso Twist: 6 reps H/V
    • Jackknife: 20 reps
    • Lunge: 15 reps
  • Aerobics: Long Distance Run

Final Thoughts

Today was less about big wins and more about small form corrections, outfit realism, and noticing patterns. The numbers went up, but so did the awareness. I’ll count that as growth. (Also I’m still sore, which feels validating.)
